Shark in a Bottle

Just uploading bits and pieces of things I’ve already finished as I slog through real life stuff. These are two shots of Helix Grey, the main character from that webcomic I keep saying I’m making. They’re actually panels, and represent the quality of artwork I’ll be using on every page. Although on special occasions, I’ll switch to full color.

Helix, a young scientist, has growing questions about the humanity of the project he’s been working on, and eventually feels obligated to take matters into his own less-than-clean hands. OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES. It’s steampunk, it’s sci-fi, it’s horror, it’s full of old secret society magic.

Tentative launch date is January 14th! My co-writer and I are waffling about the title (Atalanta Fugiens), BUT ONE WAY OR ANOTHER THIS IS HAPPENING. I’ve been so excited about it and juggling my job with pumping out as many pages as I can. The plan is to be able to immediately release the entirety of the 18 page intro, since it’ll be kind of slow, and then move at a one page a week schedule. So, I need to finish those 18 pages, plus a ten page buffer and some cover and chapter illustrations.

Random page from Atalanta Fugiens that I’m super proud of. My ability to draw backgrounds is VERY QUESTIONABLE but I figure I will get better.
Eventually.
I hope.

I’ve been having an art crisis that I’ve been working through. I was suddenly very unhappy with how I draw, uh, everything. So, I impulsively started this as an attempt to push through some of the barriers that were frustrating me.
This is Amanda Cross, another character from my in-the-works webcomic. She’s leaning on the shoulders of her companion who is as of yet not colored. c:

This page doubles as an illustration so I’ll just upload it. c: Progress from Atalanta Fugiens! Still building up the intro and the buffer. I want to have a fifteen page intro done, plus a ten page buffer before I start actually pushing it.

This was going to be a fancy Halloween drawing, but I don’t think I’ll finish it tomorrow, plus I kind of lost track of the mood I was going for. :|a I still like it though.

Colonel Galen, yet another character from Atalanta Fugiens! Now that he’s designed, I can proceed with pages for the next section. WHEW.
